Aquaponics!

Aquaponics is about growing fish and vegetables in a synergistic system that uses fish to provide nutrients to plants, and plants to clean water for fish. In Mr. Roberts’ science classroom, we have an indoor aquaponics system made from a recycled plastic IBC container.  This site is intended to serve as a reference guide to the aquaponics system at Canyon Middle School.

We use high tech LED lighting to keep our plants happy, and an automatic fish feeder to keep the fish happy. We’re raising bluegill.
